The term "Jah" is a shortened version of "Jehovah", the name of God in English translations of the Old Testament. Rastafari holds strongly to the immanence of this divinity; as well as regarding Jah as a deity, Rastas believe that Jah is inherent within each individual.
The reason we are called "Jah Herbs n Roots" is because our genealogical connections to the island of Jamaica as well as our belief that these herbs and roots came from God. They have divine healing properties and should be held in high regard. They should be utilized by all of her people.
